Everyone feels afraid sometimes. I was afraid of speaking in front of people because I worried about making mistakes, and people would laugh at me. Every time I stood on stage, my heart beat fast and I dared not look at the audience.
Last term, I decided to join a speech contest to see if I could face my fear. I practiced hard every day. Although I was nervous at first, I kept going.
On the day, my hands were sweaty and my legs were shaking. I took a deep breath and started. When I finished, I felt so proud of myself. I learned that fear is something to face, not run from.
So don't let fear stop you. If I can do it, you can too!
